For some of us bathing is a way of life. We shower when we must as a quick means to maintain hygiene, but a long soak at the end or maybe even the beginning of the day is a large part of our wellness routine. One thing to remember about bathing is that just like you, your tub needs a good cleaning once in a while!
Think about it. How clean can you expect yourself to be after a bath if you haven't cleaned your tub in weeks? Not very! So let’s discuss some great tips for cleaning your tub as well as some advancements Jason has made to help with the clean aspect of your tub maintenance.
One cleaning method is to use a combination of baking soda and vinegar to scrub your tub. First you will want to sprinkle the tub with baking soda. Next fill a spray bottle with half warm water and half vinegar. From there spray the tub and let the mixture of vinegar and baking soda bubble on the surface of the tub for a few minutes. After that scrub the tub with a non-abrasive sponge or soft cloth until a paste forms. Once the paste has formed let it set for 15 minutes before wiping down and rinsing.
The above takes care of surface stains or residue that may have built up overtime, but what about the internal parts of your bath? If you have a whirlpool, AirMasseur®, or maybe a MicroSilk® system we can take the cleaning process a step further.
The first approach to cleaning your tub is rather simple. First fill your tub to operating capacity- just a few inches above the jets- then from there pour in 1 cup of bleach. Once you have done that run your hydrotherapy for a full 20 minute cycle. Once it has finished let it sit for 30 minutes before you run it one more time. After this cycle drain the tub completely and refill it with clean water to operating capacity. Run the hydrotherapy for another 20 minute, drain, and you are all finished!

All of the tips above are great ways to keep your bath clean and well maintained; however, Jason has also made advancements in their tub design to help to ease the mind of our bathers in between tub cleanings. First, our tubs are designed with special anti-microbial tubing to help prevent build up in the lines. Secondly, our optional ozone system kills off any bacteria in the water so that you are left with clean water. Additionally, our patented V-Drain™ Plumbing System helps to ensure maximum water drainage from the plumbing system in our whirlpool baths. Lastly, our Positive Drain AirMasseur® channel and channel drying system helps to ensure the cleanliness of your AirMasseur® bath as well.
I hope this article was helpful both in regards to some of Jason's innovations and as to some great bath cleaning methods!
