Quality of Life Improvement
I was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, and attended the University of Arkansas for a degree in Interior Design from the School of Architecture. After briefly working as a designer at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Corporate Headquarters, I got married to my high school sweetheart, Derek. Together we moved to Aspen, where we both worked for architecture firms. After a year, I missed home and moved back to Little Rock to design private aircraft at Falcon Jet. I left Falcon to start my own design company called Georgia James Creative. In May of 2012, at the age of 28, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. My fast paced life came to a screeching halt.
Fighting Fancy: Everyone told me to take it easy and embrace this time of treatment and recovery...I did the opposite. I chose to make something positive out of my situation and founded Fighting Fancy—a non-profit organization that provides bags of health and beauty related products to young women going through chemotherapy.
Experiencing MicroSilk®
After finishing my chemo treatments in the fall of 2012, I was put on 5 years of Tamoxifen, an oral chemo medication that sometimes makes me feel like I am still struggling through chemo—dry skin, copper deposits, fatigue and all. With these pills, anemia, insomnia, a business to run and Fighting Fancy to coordinate, I was still looking for something to relax and refresh me and keep me feeling "fancy." I heard about MicroSilk through a friend who told me that it would help with my copper deposits, dry skin, aches, and insomnia. I had the opportunity to try MicroSilk at a physical therapist's office and could immediately tell a difference.
Life with MicroSilk
I was not only in love with the effects of MicroSilk, but also with the sleek design of the bath. I built a new house in the spring of 2013 and made a MicroSilk bath a central part of my bathroom. The bath is a place where I relax daily to fight the effects of my medications and ongoing struggle to sleep; it's also a place where I work comfortably from my iPad! MicroSilk keeps my skin looking even-toned and healthy and prevents post-surgical scar tissue for a more effective healing process. As I face 4 more surgeries and years of medication, MicroSilk is an important part of my routine of fighting and feeling fancy. I encourage anyone going through cancer or struggling with stress and pain to experience the relief, relaxation, and detoxing benefits of MicroSilk.
